Who we are

EMpower is a groundbreaking collaboration between Dutch and Kenyan partners, united to transform Kenya's transportation sector through electric mobility. Our consortium brings together leading experts in EV infrastructure, financial technology, renewable energy, and sustainable transport to create a comprehensive ecosystem that makes electric vehicles accessible and profitable for taxi drivers in Nairobi. By combining world-class Dutch expertise in charging infrastructure with deep local knowledge and operational experience, we're building the foundation for Africa's electric transport revolution.

We're actively growing towards deployment of 300 electric vehicles and 120+ smart charging points across Nairobi, while training over 500 taxi drivers in EV operations and financial literacy. Our mission is simple yet powerful: EMpower taxi drivers to increase their income by reducing operating costs, all while contributing to Kenya's sustainable development goals. Through innovative financing solutions, smart charging technology, and comprehensive support systems, we're proving that the transition to clean transport isn't just good for the environment – it's a pathway to economic prosperity for thousands of Kenyan families.
